Demonstrated success in tactical sourcing, recruiting, as well as projects related to optimizing talent acquisition and university relations organizations. I've been conducting my business remotely for several years and have expertise across technical and non-technical disciplines. Clients have included Microsoft, Walmart Labs, Riot Games, Activision Blizzard, Pandora, Target.com, and a variety of early and late stage start-ups.

I worked with Melinda twice as colleagues, once at Yahoo! from 2007-2009 and again at WalmartLabs from 2010-2011. At Yahoo!, she was a technical recruiter supporting Yahoo! Search in a full life cycle capacity, recruiting very experienced Java engineers, research analysts, and research engineers up to the Director level in a cut throat market. At least 5 of the engineers whom she hired at Yahoo! have been picked up by Google and she was able to convince a machine learning scientist from Google to join Yahoo!, which was unheard of since no one leaves Google!

At WalmartLabs, she provided sourcing support for the platform engineering organization, securing very sought after technical talent including backend and full stack Java developers, data scientists with production coding expertise, and A/B testers for the Carlsbad WalmartLabs location.

Melinda has a deep intellectual interest and understanding of the technology space and people. She has strong critical thinking skills and can "think outside of the box" by relentlessly identifying opportunities for stellar candidates. Another strength that she has is developing and maintaining relationships with client groups and candidates; she recollects details about them and this has garnered her a memorable reputation for being personable and insightful so that hiring managers and candidates return to her when they need recruiting help or help in their own job search. Finally, Melinda is diligent about closing communication loops, and being respectful and responsive, which are important qualities in recruiting. I would definitely love to work with her again!
